How a typical OEM sample approval runs for power products. Your project may skip or repeat a step, so tell us what you already have.
1. Requirement
Write down the device, the market, the must-have electrical values, and any branding rules. Incomplete requirements are the usual reason a first sample comes back wrong. This is the work of engineering.
2. Proposal and sample
You should see a written spec for the sample: electrical values, housing, cable, labels and packing. Approve that on paper, then wait for the physical sample. Changing the spec after the sample is cut usually means another round.
3. Test and sign-off
Test the sample on the real device, in the real pack if packing matters. Send photos of failures, not only a sentence. When it is accepted, that sample is the reference for production follow-up on quality and manufacturing support.
Volume, lead time and certification are confirmed in the quotation, alongside the approved sample.
